Hey guys, I need some opinions. I have a "low grade" FH that I bought from my lfs, and over the 2 months I've owned him, he's become one of my favorite fish. Anyway, when I got him he was around 1.25" and I put him in my 240 with a few other juvenile cichlids and I've been powerfeeding the heck out of the tank. Well now he is 4" and DESTROYING every other fish in the tank. So, last week I put him in a 40g breeder by himself(until I get a 60 for him) and all he does is hide. Will this hiding pass? In my 240 he was so cool and now in his own tank, he is Mr. Antisocial. Just want to see if anybody else has experienced this and if he will eventually become the cool wet pet he was before. Thanks.

need pics of the setup

It is def stressed out. Looks like a nice setup. Are your water parameters ok? How long has he been in there?

He's been in there for about 6 days. Yeah water params are fine, am--0, nitrite--0, nitrate 10.
When he was first put in there, my daughter was trying to surprise me and she threw a couple small Cory cats in there...long story short, on his first day in the tank, I had to cram needlenose pliers down his throat to rip out a lodged Cory. He has eaten since, but not a lot. Basically, I understand his attitude, I just hope he comes out of it.

Dim the lights and give him some more cover across the tank. He should perk up within a couple days and be better soon.

any update?
