Wrong forum, but to answer your question, it depends on the individual person's taste. I'd prefer to buy a fry and raise it to adulthood due to cost as well as the satisfaction of knowing that you raised that fish yourself.

if you are not looking to breed right away smaller are your best bet the newer the generation it seems the nicer the fish. and its easier on the wallet, im going to there store in like a week.

the value is on the eye of the beholder as they say. I've seen people pay hundreds for FH that i wouldn't pay 20 bucks for. All depends on taste

richard I know of a LFS that has some fh that are 8-12 inches long for $150.00 -$300.00
