Hi. so i started my first FH breeding project, between my kml(female) and my zz rd(male). This is more like a practice run so i can learn more about breeding FH. I could use a little advice from the pros in FH breeding.
Details: they are in a 60 gal separated by a divider in the middle, the female is bigger then the male(7"vs 6"), also the male is only 8 months old, is that too young? they've been together in the tank for a week or so, just when they seemed used to each other i removed the divider and for the first 5 mins they appeared to display typical FH courtship(FH dance&swimming side by side) until the female wanted to liplock which the male tried avoiding. After that the ritual broke and the female started chasing leading to their re-separation. What was the mistake here and should i change the dynamic like getting an older bigger male? thanks in advance
