Hi, I was just wondering if I need to do anything special to help my FHs breed. I read somewhere online that you should turn the water temperature up, but that's about it. Any tips?

the shell thing is a constant debate on other flowerhorn sites and i read somthign that makes sese. most of the katarine <i think its called>is in the shelll. like 99.9 pecernt. thats the red coloring and one of the best flowerhorn color enhancers. so the trick is to make the shell eatable. people have posted pics of make a shrimp paste by chopping upthe shrimp into lil diced peiced. i recomend this. but if u don't have the time or don't wanna smell fishy removin the shell works too

the female will drop a white thick tube, up to half inch
and both will show stress bars.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I'll have to get another heater for my tank probably then. I guess I'm just gonna have to keep a close eye on my fish from here on out... and hopefully they'll eat the shell.
