well , like a lot of flowerhorn owners I wanted his colors to show ,some times kind of dark , some times lighter , but when I introduced him to his girlfriend , wow colors I didn't even know he had , silvers and golds ,beautiful she even turned a teal color , even though shes laid eggs a few times and she darkens up he still looks nice , no fry yet, may be infertile but any way just somthing I'd like to pass along.

the answer about the color shown of your flowerhorn is that he likes to be with a mate thats why he showed stunning beautiful color :D

did you have to do anything special to introduce her into the tank? i am thinking about buying a female red texas mate for my 6" red texas male. He is not tolerant of any other fish, so his tank is completely empty so far.

Keeping a male blood parrot with your male flowerhorn will help keep him aggressive and active. The female flowerhorn help the male to color up but will also reduce the hump of the male.

I bought her along with 5 other fry about 3/8" long raised them up she was by far the meanest one but also the best looking and largest ,( had a red tailed shark more or less a dither ) but he put a wupping on her at first but she had an escape route at all times , but it was about two days wham they paired up now she 's the boss (for the most part) and laying eggs every two weeks , as far as his hump really hasnt gotten much bigger but dosent seem too bad , they have a 125 all to them selves
