i bought 11 FH fries or frys (whatever).
its from a hobbyist so they were cheap and not well identified.
i placed them i a tank of 3.5 x 1.5 ft (customly constructed by me)

after a day, the brightly colored fries started to chase and bite the others.
they were all about 1.5 inch to 2 inches in size.

whats the best thing to do with this?

are FH really this territorial that even fries are so aggressive?

so what is that tank like close to a 40gal? What size are the fry right now as this will make a difference? If they are still around the inch range you should be good for a bit but depending on the size hard to say until I know. Yes they are aggressive. Fry do well at small size when there are a lot of them. You start breaking them down into smaller groups and they start to claim territory. Yes they are very territorial. Try adding some plants but not to many rocks just plants to give visual beerier but nothing to claim. When you have a lot you want bare tank as to have nothing for them to claim as their own.

i cant exactly calculate the tank.. maybe 60 gallons
3.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 are the rough dimensions

the fry are about 1.5 to 2 in

Your tank is to small it like 25 gl only and of course even they are small they are fh's evryday they grow big they will show more aggressiveness.

hummm.i put all my fry in 55 gal. they are 1" rite now and they do chase each other but you guy rite big bare tank they dont claim territory

as a solution, i tried to separate the fry. i transfere 6 of the fry to another tank. the tanak has already 3 oscar. two of them a pair. been observing them for 2 days and the only agression i see is between the FH fry. the 3 oscars seem to be passive with them. the tank is just small about 30 gal.
i better have a bigger tank by next week or the fins of my fry with become like leaves of a weeping willow.

with the minimal nutrition ( not malnutrition), does anybody now the rate at which FH fry grows?
