FH ID/Opinions/PROBLEM WITH CUT or SORE ON TAIL HELP!!!

Hello everybody,

I just picked this up the other day and the person i purchased it from told me there was nothing wrong with it but there is a clear sore/cut near the tail. The cut is right next to the last pearl. I will try to get a better picture of it. The only problem i notice is the tail seems to sag downward.

Nice red dragon. Is the sore on the tail look infected to you? Can't really tell if it's real bad or not from the pictures. The fish looks healthy though, keep the water really clean and add a bit of salt(teaspoon per 5 gallons).

Doesn't look serious, I would increase the temp and add some salt to the tank (1tbs per 5 gallons should be fine).

As for the flowerhorn, thats a nice male Red Dragon.

I dont have much experience/knowledge about infections but it doesnt look too bad IMO. I know the pics are bad sorry about that. I did bump up the temperature to around 79 degrees and i dont have salt atm, but i will hit the LFS this weekend or asap. Thanks for the reply.

Regular table salt works fine and is hella cheap. The normal temp in the tank should be AT LEAST 82F so bump it up to like 86F.

Never had a problem iodized salt but look for the one that doesn't have it.
