Fh in 20

I'm thinking of purchasing a fh. Someone locals is selling fh fry around 1-2". I was curious if I could keep it in my 20 while it is small. And how long I could keep it in there. Until I either have to sell it or move it to my 50 gal when I move the fish in it out?

Would it be possible to purchase 2 fry and grow them up in the 20 then transfer to the 50 and keep which I like better?

I'd do one in a twenty until maybe 4-5 inches. Two together wouldn't work the smaller one would be slowly beat to death. What are the dimensions on the 50?

Person said I could trade fish for fish. And I'd like to trade my convict pair so that would be 2 fh. Would I be able to get 2 and them once I can see better potential at like 2-3" sell one? Or if I need to I can divide the 20. But I'd feel bad if they were getting crammed

2 in one tank at juvenile stage isn't the best bet unless you got something else in there. one will kill the other. a 20 could probably house 1 for about 6 months max.
