FH, midas, other?

I purchased this guy a few days ago at Petsmart as a trimac which I knew it wasn't so I was banking on it being a FH even though I've never seen one that's all yellow. Although up until yesterday it had the same black markings on the head and face as the 4th pic in this thread http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90590&highlight=midas

fish is 3.5-4"

It doesn't have the characteristic red eyes of a FH, although, not all varieties of FH have those red eyes. It looks like a keeper either way.

my first reaction was midas, and it might possibly be cause petsmart leaves the tops of their tanks open and all the fish decide they want to migrate

i'm almost sure that's a FH

RD juveniles don't have that iridescence on their fins and tail.

its a gold FH......looks like its going to be a nice looking fish when it matures.

Are gold FH's rare? I don't think I've ever seen one before.

they are not rare but they are quite valuable when older(especially males w/ big humps) but its deff. a gold FH like i said above.

Yes gold FH. They aren't really rare just not common. I love these fish and are incredible when adults.
