Hi guys, I am new to this fish keeping hobby..I recently acquired a fh fish 4 days ago he is about 2-3 months old he isnt eating any of the food that i have been giving to him like cichlid pellets, or amber pellets or even blood worms. is it because hes taking time to adjust with the surroundings. or is dr something else to worry about? .. He often hides behind the filter when i go close to the tank and is now pooping in white..I am really worried for him

I’d check ur water quality. Make sure the tank is cycled and keep nitrates below 20ppm. Id try and get some medicated food with metronidazole. If not taking food then either then get clear cut aqua and it’ll have to be injected into it mouth a with a syringe (no needle).

Id get epsom salt treatment going. It will regulate your fish's system and hopefully get its metabolism going. Also water chanes every 3 days as well whilst redosing new water with salt. Get a plec to give it some competition to eat or just for it to let it know its ok to eat.

I recently had 6 discus that i treated that wernt eating and salt seemed to sort them out after 5 days IMO.
