My FH was fine when I got him and now his stomach is bloated and he's barely pooping. I have dosed the tank with epsom salt and metro because I believe it's from hex as he had some white stringy poop. He's from Thailand and had a small layover in California. I think I made the mistake of feeding him pellets even though I soaked them in the metro and epsom salt as well. He passes some poop and it's brown but not very normal - I have stopped feeding is this the right course of action? Camera is dead so no pics currently he's still energetic and willing to eat his stomach just looks like he swallowed a bouncy ball.

Without some pics its difficult to tell. Also please post your water parameters since those are very important to us. If he's now pooping brown, that's a good sign. If he's constipated, some peas could help soften the stool and help it pass.

Water parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and 5ppm nitrate. He pooped a large mass today which a large portion of it was clear and jelly like. His stomach has gone down significantly and he seems to be donig much better.

Here's what I would do, treat for internal parasite (possibly Hexamita), with 3% magnesium sulfate (epson salt). Take one tablespoon of magnesium sulfate, stir it into 500mL of distilled water and soak the food in it for 15 minutes. Do this for a week or two and it should clear him right up.
