FH x Con ???? anyone?

hi guys / gals...lol
so here are my issues / questions...

Can FH breed W/ Cons??
~ i think they can...correct me if im wrong.

If so should i allow my female FH to breed with one of the male cons?
She shows alot of intrest in them even tho they are slightly smaller...

Also....do you think it would be better to breed her with the pink con, blue (normal) con with a big nocural hump (kok)????

i just want them to look nice but i am unsure what may turn out better...

breed her with a con if you want to, but first generaton crosses with cons always turn out terrible no matter what. you wont be creating anything special, whether you go with "blue" or pink, basically just healthy feeders. it would be interesting to see what the flowerhorn mixed with the pink con would look lie though, just out of curiousity, not to actually keep. it would basically destroy the gene pool of the flowerhorn.
an, those would be some mean little fish.

They can cross but I wouldn't cross them. Other than a more manageable size a con has nothing to offer in a FH cross. They benefit no looks or color even if it were a pink con. You'd see no pink offspring unless the FH parent also carried genes for leucism.
I wouldn't do it.

ıf you want to do ıt then go ahead they are your fısh. ı thınk ıt would be ınterestıng and as long as you are treatıng the fısh ın a humane way there should be no objectıons. enjoy your fıshkeepıng to the max!

It's up to you, but if I were you then I would not even waste my time. Like everyone else have already stated, a Convict has noting to offer in terms of quality to a Flowerhorn, and on top of all that, any hybrid with convict in it is worth piss, IMO.

well i just purchased a huge male pink con...with a huge head and bulky body...he is awesome!!! so i got the best of both worlds

i haven't seen pink con X fh yet. if you want a smaller fh, why not try a salvini instead? at least you might get a double flowerline and a yellow base. there would be a possible gain from it. even a pink con, would probably take good traits out of the offspring. i am with everyone else that thinks this is a bad idea. barred con makes mini barred fh and they are ugly. if you want a barred fh, put a zz over black gravel and backround.
i think that you will end up killing them all because no one will want them, but i have never seen any, like i said. i was surprised to see how different each kamfa was when i bred fh X bp. most were fugly. there was one nearly perfect one and alot of good but not great ones. like someone else said, it is up to you they are your fish but, to me, it isn't fun culling the ugly ones. it takes months to see how they are turning out and by the time you see that they aren't going to be anything special, they will be too big to feed to your other fish.
besides, you're female fh will most likely kill the male con unless he is full grown and she is very small. you would be better off trying male fh female con if you were going to do it.
