I would feed mine twice or three times a day. Not necessary to feed that many times. One or two days out of the week, I'd feed him lightly just to go through the day. Or you can just not feed them instead. If you over feed them, they wont be active, look good, and their koks wont grow. I'd say regular feeding with one to two days fasting out of the week.
Lol, he said what's the best diet, not how often should he feed it. XP But, there are tons of enhancers and kok pumping prepared foods out there for fh such as Chingmix and all this other stuff that I really have no experience with. XP But you should feed it Hikari Cichlid Bio Gold as a staple food. The other stuff should just be supplementary, kind of like protein shakes and creatine. But, if you would really like to know about fh and stuff, there is a forum that specializes in flowerhorns and how to raise them to be masterpieces called : http://www.flowerhornusa.com/forums.html That would be your best bet for flowerhorn advice

Ching mix is the best known FH food of today. Feed freezed dried shrimp too. uuuuuuu those two are all I need to raise my FHs. But good to have variety of different foods. They like lots of things. Dont get carried away by over feeding them. That's not good.

I recently got some chingmix and I must say, the difference it makes is huge. Honestly makes me wonder what's in it. Although the package says no sex hormones, I have heard that it does contain things that stimulate hormone production...I certainly wouldn't make it the staple.
Yes. Your assumption is right. It says no hormone but I think there is.
