Hey everyone just trying to figure this out. I bought a fhaka in January and hes been in a 120 gallon aquarium. With a varied diet and regular water changes. I’ve gotten him to may from from 2 inches to 3 inches. I’m a bit concerned about him not growing at the rate he should be. Anyone have any advice or ideas?

Puffers are generally slow growing, but fahaka are supposed to be the exception if I’m not mistaken.

That is rather unusual for a Fahaka to grow to only 2 / 3 inches in 6 months? What size was he when you got him and as mentioned above what are you feeding / water changes like? also any other tankmates in the tank?
I got the puffer at 2 inches he’s maybe 3 inches currently. Water conditions are optimal. I’ve been feeding him a mix of blood worms, brine shrimp, and small snails roughly 2 times daily. Water changed are done at a minimum of once weekly at 20-25%. Only fish in the tank.

I suggest 50% or more weekly. Your Nitrate level may be high and can stunt growth.
Nitrates are at 10ppm and that was before my water change yesterday.
