Hey guy's, a couple weeks ago I noticed my FH's right pectoral fin had a little redness to it at the base. I decided to up the water changes, but it seems to be getting worse. The other day I placed him in a bucket of water with some malaquite green and then also with a q-tip put some of the malaquite green on the swollen area. I kept him in the bucket for the time it took me to give the tank a big cleaning, replacing about 80% of the water. But still no signs of getting better. Now it just seems to be getting worse as it looks as if the blood is in the fins.

Anybody ever experience this before? And what am I supposed to do?

Thanks for the help.

Hey HS, the only issue is that this has been like that for a couple weeks now. My temp. maintains itself at 83 and like I say the water is quite clean. Do you think using salt would maybe help?

Thanks Crazysteve, considering here in Peru we typically only get pretty crappy FH's, this one I picked out and have treated like a king has grown up to be a monster among FH's here lol. Not many people here in Peru can say they have a FH like this....I'm quite lucky.

Thanks for the advice guys. Unfortunately down here in Peru we don't get melafix or primafix, but I did use the salt and more frequent WC's and he is all better now.

Again thanks a lot for the help.
