Hi.

As many ppl insist on keeping FH along with other fish as tankmates I came with this idea:

Why don't we start a therad (this) where everybody who keep FH post what his prev experience regarding keeping FH with tank mates has turned out to be.

For example: I have seen many ppl trying to introduce Plecos along with FH and the other time this dude told me that his FH had disemboweled some two or three plecos.

In this way we can get several tank mates experiences all together in this thread and ppl who insist on keeping FH with other fish can have a glimpse of what can happen if they do so.

So people who's starting?....
;)

Haha I don't know if this counts but I kept a Musk Turtle with my Flowerhorn. Didn't work out too well because the Flowerhorn started ramming the turtle against the tank walls :(

When I bought some FH's at adult ages.. It was difficult to have tank mates. However, when I placed Angelfish and Plecos with FH fry that I hatched out myself, they never touch the Angelfish or Plecos. The Angel fish were the size of a Dime and the FH were about half an inch, the pleco was 2". Fh fry grew to about 4"... never touched the angels or plecos, they did however pick on each other. I like to believe that I'm the lucky few that raised FH's with peaceful fish.

Nice imput guys.

I guess there are some other problems regarding keeping turtles with fish, not only aggression, Turtle's wastes severely modify the water param too.

I had a shortbody flowerhorn with a blood parrot for a year, they were both male and the parrot started off as the bigger one and in the end they were about even on size. The flowerhorn just never had much color so I gave him away. Those never fought eachother, but when I bought the flowerhorn I originally had bought two and they did fight even at 2 inches. I also had 3 OB peacocks in there with them from the start and they never fought, except the OB's would pick on eachother a bit (also all males).

Looking back at my pictures, I also had silver dollars in there at some point and tiger barbs, also without issues. Also a pictus cat...
