ok once again im searching for any other methods to help fix my FHxBP with a damaged swim bladder. ive had this fish for roughly 1.5 months and due to a shipping mishap received him almost dead and resting completely upside down in sub 50f water. i revived him and all is great with him except that he rests completely upside down still and has a hard time swimming upright most of the time. other than that he eats great, poops great, and his colors are amazing which tells me he happy(i know this because i placed him in with my larger fish for about a week and his coloring was completely black and he constantly hid).

so far i have tried to not feed for a few days and then feed peas, but no help. i have also tried a weeks worth of maracyn 2 with no improvement. what else can i try? ive read that possibly epsom salt may work but how much for how long? any other suggestions?

thanks, i truely believe that the swim bladder is damadged and its not a sickness. if im right i dont think there is any thing i can do.

I'm just at a loss also Sir---

The puzzleing part is the way mine acted when I recieved it....But after placeing into the shorter tank-Things seemed to have fixed themselves...I mean the guy every now and then tends to swim a bit screwed up,But I just think it tends to be the body shape....

If things seems to be fine(other than swimming)..I would just let it go about as normal...

I have a frontosa with severe swimbladder problems (sinking to the bottom) and has been like it for 4 months. I suspect it was initially caused by trauma from fighting.
I've tried epsom salts, increased temp, peas, metronidazole, nothing has worked unfortunately.
His condition is slowly deteriorating and I've come to the conclusion that euthanasia will be the best option for him :(
I suspect you are probably in a similar situation I'm sorry to say :(

thats what im afraid of. i can see that it truely bothers him to have such a hard time swimming as he is always fighting to stay upright, and this fish is one of those that i just truely became attached to instantly. ive euthanised quite a few fish without even thinking twice about it, but it would truely break my heart to do this to this fish. if need be i will though if he gets worse.
