i am helping my buddy build his tank and we have a few questions first the tank will be 8 ftx 4ft x 3.5ft. saltwater tank. should we just use the epoxy paint or will we need to fiberglass the inside. rock will be sitting in it but we were planning on putting styrofoam down underneath the rock areas first.

any suggestions are appreciated

A couple of layers of glass in the corners and any seams will help prevent stress cracks from causing leaks there.

fiberglass tape in the seams won't hurt. I wouldn't bother laying glass over all the surfaces though, epoxy is pretty tough.

fibreglass complete inside of tank its alot of hard work but worth the effort i have built tanks like this that are still going strong 18years later it never works cutting corners with plywwood tanks
