Fiberglass Repair questions?!?

I moved to a new house in january and it has a old hot tub that I am trying to convert into a fish pond. The gelcoat or whatever is used in hot tubs is cracking and flaking. How do I go about fixing that problem?

normally you have to sand down the gelcoat till its even and no longer flakey. then acetone the surface to get it nice and clean. then you just follow the company suggestions and instructions.

Thanks. Don't have to rough it up with some sand paper for the new gelcoat to stick?

i would sandblast it and coat it with pondshield / pond armor

you can get hand help sand blasters and borrow and air compressor
