I am planning on building my own sump for filtration out of plywood, and I've got a ton of ideas on how to seal it.
So far I'm leaning towards fiberglass matting and resin, but will this be toxic once cured?

any other ideas throw out there! thanks in advance.

no, fiberglass are not toxic when cured. I think this is the best way to seal your plywood. Good luck on your project.

Thanks! Have you ever used it, or can you point me to a reference of some sort?

I'll let everyone know how it turns out:) i'm going for it!

which tank is this lil project for? it Should work out fine, Ive seen fiberglass stock tanks so it should def work for a sump.

this is for my 300. Its about 100 gallon sump. When I'm finished you can expect an obnoxiously long thread:)

What are you going to do with your current sump for it? I thought that one was working rather well for the 300.

my 300 plywood tank got replaced with a 265 glass, and thats what the acrylic sump is on (and it is working great)
I recently aquired an acrylic 300 and thats what i'm building this sump for:naughty:
