So I am wanting to do a Ray tank and still doing research I find the fiberglass tanks are cheaper than acrylic but they would need to be plumbed will a hang on overflow work for the ones on pent airs website. They have a lip on them.

They drill very easy for bulkheads… 1 less thing to fail with gravity drains. Same bits as u’d use for acrylic. Small teeth hole saw with pilot bit ??

Yes, extremely easy to drill. I have one side drain and my return line goes over the top of the tank through a hole in my canopy panel (see pictures). My set up is very basic but effective. It has been running trouble free since June 2019.

To achieve the preferred water level inside the tank there is an upward facing elbow on the inside of the tank where that drain is.

I'm curious though. Are you not bothered about seeing your rays? Fiberglass tanks with viewing windows are not exactly brilliant for bottom species.
