Anyone in here use fiberglass tubs for their stingrays? I was given this 500+ gallon tub. I'm brainstorming different filtration ideas. I'm thinking 55gal drum with 30gal of bio ball for bio. Someone (Al on Facebook page) brought up something a week or so ago. I think it was a solids removal system.

I can't find the post now... what kind of mechanical filtration besides layered matela media/socks would be recommended?

I can get another tub same width and height, but half the length. I think I'm going to get it and use the small one for large "sump". If I stack them I am thinking of creating another filter for filtering out poop.

I'd love to get some feed back if different ideas.

I wish i could find some like those around here. What are the dems?
Different people will reccomend different methods that have worked well for them. I would strongly recommend a 55 gallon barrel bio reactor full of K1 media rather than bio balls. Use a prefilter like socks or something before hand. That's all I run on my pond. I'll most likely be adding some UV here before 2 much longer. Never a bad idea to run UV imo.
