fiddler crab help

i went fishing for crab today and i found some fiddler crabs in a hole and i got 3 and put them in a bowl and their still alive

what do i need to keep them in a tank????

i believe they need a piece of wood going to the suface...thats cool that you found some wild ones...didn't know they were native here...
 
well generally fiddler crabs aren't totally aquatic from what i've seen try to make sort of a beach tank where there is a place they can burrow and make holes into sand and a spot that is totally submurged into water as for food you got me you could try giving them frozen prawn experiment and find out :)
 
im not really sure in the wild they make holes in sand they they use to bury and make shelter so in this case to my knowledge i would say no use the sand it has to be a decent depth so they can bury and make a tunnel system, do some research online because i could be wrong this is just what i see with fiddler crabs by my beach
 
I've read that they need brackish water to thrive long term.
 
Land area with sand, brackish water. If you can't provide that don't collect them. Also i see you are from NY and unless you are on vacation you aren't finding fiddler crabs.

i live in socal and at my beach there are fiddlers and even lizards
 
wrong the park close to my house has p lake that is feed by the rockaway beach and it has ghost shrimp and fiddler crab, every summer i collect some shrimps to feed my fishes after i curantine them for a wile
