has anyone ever had/seen fiddler crabs in a saltwater environment? ive heard they can tolerate brackish waters so i was curious if i would be able to slowly transition them to saltwater. also, do you think they would eat ghost shrimp?

my plan is to cycle my saltwater tank with a couple crabs and a few dozen ghost shrimp for a while and then when the trigger/moray go in, they have a nice, gutloaded live meal..

this should work, right?

first,
fiddler crabs are brakish water animals not FW like petco and petsmart sell them as....
they will do fine in saltwater but need a place to get out of the tank for air (they arent fully aquatic).... and secondly DONT PUT ANYTHING IN YOUR TANK TO CYCLE IT.... Liverock is all you need.... it will go through the cycle just fine with LR.... ghost shrimp IME died in 2 days in SW but i didnt acclimate them properly so yours might live longer if acclimated properly......
also again.. please dont put anything in for the cycle

:banhim: ^^^^
lol
but seriously guys.. c'mon get with the times..... dont put anything in till you cycle is over with... THEN put stuff in.... save them the pain... ur not accomplishing anything... besides burning gills for the animal

ok let me start over:

1] can fiddler crabs be in a saltwater tank

2] what about red claw crabs

3] if so, will they just eat my ghost shrimp?

4] forget about cycling and answer my questions :P
