My buddy kept the snake and we released the rest. The tortoise is a threatned species and it is illegal to even touch them. If you wanna get out some time pm me, always looking for more people to go herping with.
 
They are western banded geckos. We found them in an irrigation box. Just for size refernce, they are in the bottom of a medium soda from McDonalds.
 
They have awesome patterns that sorta resemble some Leo's I have seen

What areas do you usually hunt
Most of the areas I was shown( by some old timers) are heavily hunted due to the areas being known as hot spots to hunt and being areas known for longer than I've been born to hunt
You ever go out for venomous and inverts

We were in was off of kyle canyon rd on a friends property for this trip. This was the first time we were there. I have caught a couple of sidewinders out near sunrise mountain. We will be trying a couple more sites closer to Ca. We were told there were some red western diamondbacks in the area. I just started having time to go herping, so I am not to experienced but have had some luck so far.
 
Sweet! Do you know what locality of bandeds those would be? I've never seen them with such distinct bands. The ones I find in Cali have more of a blotchy banding with random white flecks on their sides
