Fighting or "you know what" ing?

These are my fh's that Ive had for a year now, been for sale as well without any takers. I thought they were doing their thing but the female ends up running away after they do this, and the next day, she's beat up and hidding. Are they just fighting?

sounds like they might not be compatible. also yes it appears they are fighting.

they are not a pair yet for sure. try and separate them with a plexi sheet with holes and try again in a week or two. if they don't get along after that then they need to be separated permanently. GL

thanks for the advise. I think these two will be sold saparately, like batteries.

some pairs will never take to each other you can try to separte and induce the breeding over time wait until the female's tube drops before you even try to re-introduce them. If to much damage goes down and the male is not with it than not much you can do but try another mate

I have had good luck with a divider with a trap door only large enough for the female so she has a place to go. I would go 2-3 weeks with a solid divider and if you get a good vibe try the trap door.
