Figure 8 puffer - fresh or brackish

lots of arguament on this
are these fish fresh or brackish, i mean do they do well in both or better in one of them?

i dont like salt or brackish fish, i am a FW fish guy you see lol but these things are cool

Although mostly found in FW in the wild, they will not be as healthy or live as long, unless kept at low BW (SG of 1.005). If you have very hard water, they might do ok in FW with that adpect but it is much more difficult to make hard FW than just to make BW. Don't be intimidated by BW--I was for 20 years. It's really not as difficult as it seems, you just have to get used to mixing some salt before your water changes.
