I am curious as to whether this puffer would be suitable for my current community(set up in my signature). I have read that they tend to be aggressive but there's an occasional one that's peaceful. Has anyone kept the F8P with any of the stock that I have? I have read that they only eat live food, and maybe frozen food. My Badis will probably be at risk here; I'm also not sure how my Bamboo Shrimps and Pearl Gouramis will be treated. I think the SAEs and Roselines will be fine with their speed. Any suggestions/advice will be really appreciated.

Thank you!

If the aquascaping is an issue here, I can post a picture if requested.

The biggest problem you will have is that the F8 is a brackish water puffer, so unfortunately not suitable for your aquarium...

You could try and look for a freshwater puffer, but most of them are quite vicious and yes, will most likely start killing off your community one at a time...

Thanks for the advice :) What is your opinion on the Pea Puffers? Do you think the amount of work I'll have to do(adding more snails/live/frozen food) will be too much for them considering the current community?

i think in all honesty, no puffer is really a good community fish, as they all have the power to be nippy regardless of size...

The good thing about dwarfs / pea puffers is that they do not require as much care as compared to some of the larger species when it comes to hard shelled foods since they don't seem to have problems with overgrown teeth...

If you really want a puffer, a small 20G Long tank should house 3 pea puffers with some cherry red shrimp and ottos in there quite easily...

Otherwise, if you want one of the larger species, you will most likely need to have it in a solitary tank...

I see, I'm not obsessed about the puffer. I just want to "improve" my current community is all. The pearl gouramis were my most recent addition, and they are mostly for monitoring the top part of the tank and finish off the remaining food there. They're also good for breaking the film that builds up at the surface. For the bottom/water quality, I have the shrimps. The puffer doesn't really contribute anything but would be good for adding personality/diversity to the tank...

I keep Pea Puffer with my my badis, and the only problem i have is the puffer nipping my badis tail.
Thanks for sharing :) I will give it a thought. But I'm currently leaning towards not adding them...

^ yeah, probably a good idea not to add them... especially if they are going into a community tank....
