i have figure 8 puff keeping with a green spotted puffer and a acherg fish, i have added salt to the tank and the specific gravity is about 1.010 rite now. my question is ar they pure fresh or brakish water fish? can i change the system to full marine cuz i might get some yellow mono later. i know the gsp can be in the full marine but dun know about the figure 8 can be in the full marine system or not.

thanks

I picked up a figure 8 recently and did a lot of research, they should not be with GSP's cause f8s thrive best in 1.05-1.08 (and have even been successfully kept in freshwater), while, as stated, GSP's eventually need marine or at least a higher salinity that the 1.08 the f8 can handle.

The information provided is true, but in addition to that there is more. Mixing species of puffers would not be a good idea anyway. Those GSP's would rip apart the F8's.

+1 to all the above excellent advice!
