AWW!! im so excited. while receiving the fish order at my job in the bag of 2.5" calico fantails with 18 in it, there i found a figure 8 puffer whom is less than an inch..HE IS SO CUTE!!! can any one send me info or preferably pics of a good setup with one... thanks

And these poor goldfish werent mutilated -nipped to heck - by said puffer???:WHOA:

Oh o.k.:)

If you decide to setup a puffer tank you might want to make it slightly brackish, If not your puffer will most likely turn black and croak like mine did years ago when i was starting in the hobby and did not know any better!!:)

A 15 gallon tank, with an SG of 1.005 and preferably a Ph of around 8 will make a nice home for the F8. You can use Aragonite sand, ocean rock etc to buffer the water if your Ph is less than this.

Figure eights need brackish water with a sand bottom so they can dig for food. You also have to feed them snails or their teeth continue to grow. Their teeth grow like a rabbits. If you don't give them something to crungh on their teeth get out of hand and tou will have to cut the teeth down.
