Hello MFK. I have a question about filling my 90 gallon tank. I was wondering if anything bad could come from filling it for the first time with a garden hose? Would it be better to purchase something else for this job? If so, what would you suggest? This tank will be mostly BB, with the exception of some larger stones.

only the real expensive garden hose have chemicals, just go to walmart or something and buy a real cheap hose and you will be find,i have been using garden hoses fro many years and have never had one problem(use them for water changes evry week)

I agree, i've used water hoses for awhile now after my python got a leak. Just get a cheap one at wal-mart and you will be fine.

Agree i use cheap garden hose too

Just let your hose run for a few minutes, to rid of pipe water + get nasty hose water out.

hope this helps!

+1 supposedly baking in the sun it leeches out some chemicals into the water left sitting in it.
