Hey everyone! Right now, I have a 55 gallon tank with a filstar xp2 on it. I just want to know, is it a good filter? Should I stick with another filstar for another tank or switch to a different brand? From so many people, I hear ehiem but the money cost is out of my reach. How about a Fluval? how does it compare with the filstar?

Idea? buy an XP3 base the extra capacity makes a nice bio filter for a 55....
check ebay or online retailers for parts....works great.. AC 1100 for a mechical HOB might be another budget idea.

Renas are very good filters. I would not go with fluval I have heard a lot of bad about them. If you cant afford eheim (I cant) renas are the next best choice and worth every dollar.

I agree, except for the XP4 model. The XP4 is to expensive and all they did was add a basket and up the pump size. The footprint (and mech filtration) is the same, which is unfortunate.
Eheim>Rena>Fluval>Magnum
