I've been doing my head in over this one for two months now... time to ask for help.

I'm about to re-home my pair of delhezis (12cm/4.7"), senegal (15cm/6") and other tank mates from their current 120 litre/32 gallon fully planted home to brand spanking new 260 litre/70 gallon setup also with plants. Currently I've been using a ViaAqua 650 canister filter on the tank and have been very happy with the filters performance to date, it's kept the water sparking clean.

Now I need a new filter for my 260L/70G tank... suggestions? And I'm big fan of OVER filtration; the VA650 on a 120L, FX5 on a 500L, Jebo 508 on a 60L, etc etc... ...anyhow you get the idea.

I considered a Eheim Pro2 2080 but I wasn't sure if the filters mechanical filtration would be upto the task. Another option is a sump, but the cupboards under the aquaruim I got might be a bit awkward.

So if you kind people could give me some ideas/recommendations/suggestions it would be great.

Why not run an fx5 and a couple AC110's on it.

you obviously want a very clear water - as its planted if i am not mistaken?

well, fluval fx5 would be a massively overkill for a 260 litre tankl!
i mean a 260 litre tank needs only half or less that
but if you do put a fx5 in it, the water will be super clear!
i run a fx5 in my tanks - top layer filter wool, the other two bio media
and the water is sparkling clear!

sump will not clear your water in my opinion as much as canisters.
canisters really force the tiny particulates through the wool and sponge.
