I am soon purchasing a 75 gallon tank, and will be stocking it with
1 Green Terror
1 Striped Raphael catfish
1 Rainbow shark
12 Tiger barbs.

I'm looking at either a Fluval 406 or Eheim 2073/2173 or maybe even both if that's better.
Which canister filter would you recommend for this stock list? If neither of the above which other ones?
Also is there any particular filter media you would say is essential for this setup?

Just to make you aware, I am based in the UK.
Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking the Eheim due to the hosing it uses. The only problem I have, is that it doesnt look like the AC110 is available in the UK, any other suggestions for mech filtration?

I have a bunch a penguins that I use for hobs
If you want to fly to Alaska I'll give you one

If I was to chose to have the Fluval 406 and the Eheim 2073, what sort of media layout would you recommend? And how good is the biohome filter media?

I use the Bio Home Ultimate filter media in all my canisters and add some in my HOB filters as well. (It's very pricey. Best price I found is a dealer in CA. Check Great Wave Engineering. Any Red Cherry Shrimp that get sucked into my canisters love the red clay rods. They survive due to the weight of the media not moving about in the trays.
