Im trying to build a plywood tank. roughly 300+ gallons. In your guys own opinion (i know everyone will be different) whats the better canister filters and heaters for something around this size. I dont really want to go cheap cheap because i know what will happen. but i also do not want to go broke. any suggestions would be great. still kinda new to this hobby. thanks

I feel that making your own canister filter is best.... if anything make a tripod canister filter for 300 gallons... cause 300 gallons is alot. if you got a 300 gallon thats well over 2300 dollars. so spend about 2-3 hundred on making the filter. including a nice aquarium pump... you want average 5-6x gph the amount of water you have. so you want atleast 1500+ gph. This goes is a good measurement for larger tanks. and if you do a double or triple canister build like i did you need atleast 2000 gph. More filter media, the better. As for heaters... Dr.fosters smith sells heaters pretty cheap. especially 300 gallon ones. get a jager one.
