This is what I was thinking of doing for my 5 gallon betta tank. The tubes running to and from the filter would be made from the U pipe on AC 10/mini HOB filters. I'm thinking the measurements would be 14"x6"x10" (LxWxH) so the sump (I guess thats what I should call it eh?) would be roughly 2.5 gallons.
Do you think this design will work as a all in one filter? I also plan on making the 5 gallon a planted tank. Do you think this design will allow all the nitrates to be eaten without me needing to do waterchanges?
The stocking for the 5 gallon will be nice and simple. One male betta and 5-10 tiger shrimp.
So does that seem good? what might you suggest? Also for lighting for the plants I was thinking two coil flourescent bulbs, sound good?
Thanks!
