Ok, so I've had this filter for months and months and after I forgot to take out the carbon in my filter when I was administering medicine, I replaced the carbon. Well.. after I replaced the carbon (same amount taken out) the flow is very little. The first small section with the tube overflows and very little spits out. I cant say there is ALOT of carbon in it because its the same and I even took a little out. What is going on and what should I do? I know the media (white pouch) contains beneficial bacteria and I havent added sponges or pot scrubbers yet so should I replace the pouch? Should I introduce a sponge a while THEN replace the pouch? Is the pouch even a problem? lol cant think of a reason. Thanks guys *hugs* :)

well u can u start by telling us what filter u have...;)

if i were to guess i would say sump? (you mentioned overflows and pot scrubbers)

something probably just needs to be cleaned.. something is clogging the filter slightly which in return is reducing the flow..

also, can u state what other filters u have on the tank?

whats the tank's size?

whats the stock?

hows the water look?

what are the water parameters?

Try and clean the impeller, Sometimes there is a build up of slime that grows on the magnet. As for the sponges and sponges, you can place them in front of the white pouch and carbon. I take it your talking about your topfin 20?

Sounds like an HOB to me...

But without knowing for sure we can't help much...

There is a build up of some sorts somewhere that is blocking the water flow somewhere. More details and pics would help....

yeah topfin 20. I take it you read my other post? lol External filter. I dno what could be clogged. I looked at everything individually but I'm going to take it apart (not literally to that extreme) once more.
