hi all i am in the proses of building a 300 gallon plywood tank and i will be using a 55 gallon tank as a sump. the only problem is the 55 currently housing the stock for the 300. my new sump will have pot scrubbies as the bio filtration.

so the 55 has a 29 gallon sump on it right now and i am planning on running the 300 with the 29 gallon until i finish the 55 gallon sump. this should work great for a temp filter since the scrubbies are already colonized.

so once i get the 55 built do you think i will have any problems with the nitrogen cycle on the 300 if i take the scrubbies from the 29 gallon sump and add them to the top of my new scrubbie compartment?

No you won't.... unless you add more stock right away. The colony of bacteria can handle your stock, regardless of the amount of water.

Fill your 55 with new scrubbies (alongside the old), add new stock slowly and you won't have a problem.
