hi,I'm looking forward to buy filter for my indoor pond which me and my dad will build when my red tail catfish will reach about 60cm.
the pond will be about 3metres long by 1metre by 1metre
about 3000 litres.
filter must be external, not too big and also not too expensive, maximum £200.
any ideas?this filter will go with my two fluval's 405.

anyone?

Wait 'till people wake up, buddy!! Most filter experts are in the US ( hehehe ) and they're still sleeping...

I forgot,I'm in UK

Lets see ...external.... not too big and under 200 .....hmmmm
For a RTC?
This fish requires MASSIVE filtration and a lot more then 1 meter in width.
I'd recommend a round pond 8' dia 30" high together with a Nexus Easy Pod prefiltered by a Hozelock Satrun Booster.
A lot more then £200 I'm afraid if you go a professional setup.
Your better off making your own trickle tower filter out of a plastic drum then buying a commercial filter.
I'd reckon you could make your own trickle tower for about £60 including media then buy a pump and cheap pressurised pond filter to prefilter the water and all up you would have a great system for £200.
And remember RTC's do better with swimming room and they do better in round ponds.
A lot of UK RTC keepers have been buying THESE as the 98"x33" is great for a indoor pond for a large catfish.

How can a 1.2 meter long RTC turn around in a 1 meter wide pond?
A 300x100x100cm tank is 3000 liters but provides less open swimming room then a 240x75cm high round pond is 3500 liters and the fish can swim at least twice its length in every direction.
For small ponds square or round will always be better then rectangular.

I see now,thanks my friend.

Where do you intend on putting your RTC in before its in the pond because if you put it in your Rena your stocklist will consist of
1 RTC

I hope that if my red tail will grow with my Oscars he wont eat them,I will build a indoor pond when my red tail will reach 50cm.
