Filter for 55 gallon

Just picked up a 55 gallon today for 25 bucks and need to get a new filter. (The one on there is shot, and missing pieces) Im looking to get just a simple hang on back unit from petco, petsmart, LFS, etc.

Any advice or preferences towards brands?

Tank will have Tiger Oscar and Red Devil. Will also have sand as a substrate.

cant go wrong with an AC 110 or two

that's what im getting to filter my new 56 gallon...
 
ac110 and a bigger tank for the oscar
 
im prolly going to go with the penguin 350 for now. Money is a little tight. I also have a filter on my 30 gallon tank that i could use with it.
 
scratch that. After reading the reviews about the filters i realized that the Aqua clears have no bad reviews and is recommended by everyone so ill prolly just pay the extra money and get a filter that actually works.
 
i use aqua tech hob flter from walmart. they seem to work good. been using them for years. :D
