Should I just make one or is there a good company that won't charge too much?
Any suggestions and pics of your home made filter systems would help.

Thanks!

99% of the members on here will tell you to do a wet/dry setup and build it yourself, there are many very good setups on here that have beed done DIY. Most company made ones are a fortune. I havnt done one yet but will soon. I am waiting to get hold of Oceanics 3 stage overflows but cant find anyone willing to give them up. Oceanic refuses to let go of any of theirs.

just make your own wet/dry, youll save money that way too

I think there around 300-400 dollars, I know wes at rare fish, i think he said he had some in

Can anyone give me a basic run down on how to build a filter or a 600 gal tank "freshwater" wet dry system.
Pics would help.

Thanks!

Check out this link. There is a calculator on it to figure out how much you want to flow and the size you should go with. If the tank isnt drilled search for CPR overflows they are the best. I built my first one if you have a bit of smarts its a piece of cake.

For just the biological filtration you can try one of the Pentair fluidized bed filters
