whats the best way to hook up my fluval 205 up to 2 10gallon tanks. ther are 2 breeder tanks for guppys and soon to be ghost shrimp

The installation would be the same for either tank

You would need to have the intake in one, the return in the other, and plumb the two together. Probably not worth the hassle.

Not to mention if you get some kind of out break in one tank its now in both, you would be much better off with seperate filtration.

couldnt you just splice in at the intake and output valves and have them run to both tanks? could be wrong though

would i be better of with sponge filters insted

I'm with him.

BUT, if you have to plumb them together. set them up so one is over the other and build an overflow from one to the other. Put the intake in the bottom one, and the return in the top one.

Ditch this idea.
Cheap-o thinking like this, will end up with water on the floor.
Just splitting intake and return will not mean both lines will flow equally.
You will end up with one tank overflowing sooner or later.
Use the 205 on the one tank and whatever on the other.
