So ive been redoing my tank, got the sand in tonight and the water is almost perfectly clear again. Tomorrow i will be getting the rock and building my caves.
It's a 48 gallon bowfront, with 6 african cichlids (1 of each: yellow lab, bumblebee, ngara peacock, red zebra, snow white scolofi, and a rock krib) and 4 otos for algae control if there is any.
I've been running a penguin 350 i think, rated for 50 gallon tanks and 200 gph and keeping up on my water changes.
the ammonia, nitrates and nitrites have all been perfect for the couple months it was running. I want a canister filter now though, and am going to get the fluval rated for 100 gallon tanks. fx4 i believe it is called.
Is this enough filtration considering i keep up my water changes? any other suggestions?
