Anyone out there using the Filter Guy's carbon water purfication system for there drip system? If so what kind of water do you have in your city chlromine or chlorine? After talking to Jim today at Filter guy's about buying a couple carbon cartridges system to hook up for an auto drip system, he said if I had chlorimaines that the carbon system pull all the chlorine, but still leave residue ammonia. Anyone had issue with ammonia with a drip system? He really made it seems as if you had chlromines treated water, even if you did a drip system, you'd have to do a drip conditioner like say prime along with the auto drip system. Anyone heard this before or know a way around this?

Depends on how fast your drip is, Your bio filtration should compensate. I would start the drip very slow test the amount of ammonia coming out and then also the amount in the tank. After a week or the bacteria should reach a level that removes the ammonia being added. Then you can just slowly increase the drip rate until you reach a nitrate level that you like.

I use them and love them. The ammonia comes out, but it is generally a negligible amount that the biofiltration picks up for. I've never had a problem with it at all and I've never had to use prime.

Go with the carbon blocks, not the granulated carbon. From what I am to understand, they are even more effective than the granulated.
