Hey i have a 210 gallon tank (7x2x2) with a rena xp4 filter.

My filter has been sucking terribly and the output is almost a drip

I took everything out and cleaned it and also made sure the hoses werent kinked, etc and it was working pretty well but has started to slow down again

Does anyone have any ideas or theories what could be wrong with it?

PM me or email mparrague89@yahoo.com

Thanks

Hi and welcome to MFK! I have the same filter. When I first set it up, mine was working really well too! After the first cleaning, I started having the same problems you're having. I tried everything to get more flow. I finally noticed I had a "kink" in the intake line, but instead of being folded over, it had weakened and the soft spot was collapsing when running. I trimmed the line and routed it more direct and it started working perfectly!

You may want to check and make sure you didn't suck something up in one of the hoses causing a blockage. Also, check your input and output connections.

They seem to be a finicky filter, but if everything is right, they work great!
