i dont know if this happens to other pople and if this is normal or what but i have a fluval 304 canister filter and everytime i do filter maitence when i restart the filter a bunch of particles come flying out of the output when it first starts up. the water clears up soon after is this a problem if so how can i fix it? If its not a problem what is it?

Often people miss the impeller so when they restart to shoots out leftover junk. The junk could also be coming from dirty tubing.

i had the same problem with a wet-dry some while back
check the impeller and tubing and give them a good scrubbing.

Don't worry about it that much, but if you want to clean it, I'd do it no more than 3 times a year.
