filter intake

can anyone recommend a good mechanical filter that has a long intake? i have a 265 us gal that is 30 inches deep and my xp will only reach to 19(factory max).

DIY the intake or find someone with the extra pieces for their xp filter and add on.

If you go to a hardware store, I'm pretty sure you can find a piece that's longer.

i have more pieces but the directions specify that the intake should be no longer than 19 inches

Just add a couple powerheads with sponge filters. Or you could use a reverse under gravel filter.

That's my suggestion too. I've done this on other filters.

I have an XP4 with a 26" extension that I use on my 30" deep tank. The flow rate seems what it should be. I also have an XP3 on the same tank for a flow rate reference.
