Last night a hose conection at my canister filter leaked out about ten gallons of water on to the floor and into the basement. Just wondering what the proper steps would be to make sure the flooring does not become weak?

Run a dehumidifier in the basement, check for swollen beams if wooden. Sorry I'm not a structural engineer at can't help more

If it's only ten gallons, the key is to get it dried up as quickly as possible, then take steps to make sure it doesn't happen again. Whenever I have a canister filter that is prone to leaks, I generally keep it inside some sort of bucket or something like that, just in case, or you can purchase an alarm that will go off whenever there is water spilled. That may also help. Good luck.
