Leaving out the Eheim classic. At what point with these canisters do you feel you have gotten your money out of it? I know many of you have filters that have run for a very long time but what would be average? Also do most of you follow Maintainance schedules(I.E. impellers, gaskets, etc)

I have a Magnum 350 that ive used almost nonstop for 15 years, still the original impeller too. No signs of stopping anytime soon!

Also I think the ease of service is a big factor during the life of a filter.

My oldest filter is an eheim 2028. 8 years and running strong...average cleaning is about every 6 month. and I never had any problems with micro bubbles, the pump won't start, etc...

I figure that Eheim Classic probably has the record. It's a very simple filter with not allot to break been around forever. Not at all ment as a insult to classics. I'm just trying to get a idea with these newer technology filters?

Forever.....

i'll guarantee an ac filter for life .... nothing that can break... exept impeller,,,,if the case breaks thats user error....actually I think any name brand HOB should(and will)"last forever "...barring user error
