Filter making strange sound?

I just got my filter for my 20g Saltwater fixed about a month ago and lately it's started to make a strange sound like a 'grudgy' sound. I have no more details other than it happens about once an hour. Any help?

It's also barely blowing out water

Also what kind of filter is it ? Hang on back? Canister ? What type? is anything lose ? have you taken it apart and put it back together making sure everything is in there properly ?

Mine does this after a water change. You need to constantly pour water in that back of the filter and it will eventually spit out water and stop making that noise. It can be VERY annoying. My suggestion is to hook up a hose suction and pour water in from tour sink and treat the water after. Works for me... Good luck

likely the impeller shaft. makes a grinding sound thats not very high pitched.. and not consistent.
